This is bound to create a lot of pedestrian traffic…

Adobe’s put out a 7′x15′ interactive wall outside of the Union Square Virgin Megastore. There’s a slider button on the bottom of the display that reacts to a pedestrian’s walking speed and direction, producing different effects in the animation projected on the display.

Huh, Stefan’s got a good point: it looks like Deanne Cheuk’s work. ;)

  • I tried to check it out last week, but there was a homeless guy with all his stuff camped out in front of it. I didn't want to wake him up, so I didn't see the interactive wall in person.

    Hi Jeff,
Nope, haven't seen it yet. Maybe the next time I trek into NY.

    Hallo Penguin,
    (nods in agreement)

    Hey Dora,
Thanks for stopping by the bloggie. You'll have to let me know what it's like the next time you see it!

  • I walked by this thing the other day, but I didn't know that it's interactive! A few people were standing in front of it saying, "So, this is it?"

This reminds me of when we went to the Cooper-Hewitt, and there was the motion tracked light up the stairs. Amazing!

Did you see this display? What was it like?

I have to say, I was nervous about Adobe buying Macromedia. Macromedia's always been such a hip, innovative company with an entrepreneurial spirit. But so far so good. CS3 is awesome :)
