Arts in Church Presentation

A few Fridays ago, I gave the following presentation at Church regarding the arts.
Here’s the outliine I used.
- 2 kinds of people, destroyers and creators
- nuke
- nuclear reactor
- god as creator – life
- god as destroyer – death
- as artists, we create, this is the “image” that God created us in; animals don’t create
- why create?
- joy in the act of creation
- necessity
- for ourselves – pleasure
- for others – money? obligation?
- art has a soul, don’t sell out and make what’s “popular”
- art as expression
- expresses an idea
- expresses a feeling
- art as communication
- story
- message
- god uses your art and your creations
- the act of creation glorifies him
- his truth will find its way into your art
- your art can tell a story or convey a message
- use your art to touch someone
- values
- integrity
- originality
- boldness – break rules
- exploration
- pixar – produce what you think is good
- god’s approval, not church approval
- not of this world, but in it
- fight for what’s important, compromise when necessary
