Ninja and I just got back from the Hokkaido Food Festival at Mitsuwa in Edgewater, NJ. If you can get there, go! We had some great ramen and picked up some other really interesting Japanese food.
When you enter the market from the side entrance, get in the line on the right side for the ramen. It’s miso ramen. The other shop is always there.
What we got:
- miso ramen
- crab cream puffs (fried)
- simmered squid stuffed with rice
- mochi covered in red bean paste
- la france pear soft serve ice cream
Thanks to Q and Nancy for accompanying us!
Festival runs until Monday Oct 1.

LEGOs really amuse me. Now, if they could only come up with something to put the seat down…

I thought the toilet was saying “Heck yah!” each time it flushed. Apparently, it’s really saying “Thank you!”
Tired of flushing your own toilet? Build a RoboFlush! RoboFlush is a simple Lego NXT Mindstorms Robot designed to flush a toilet automatically. It also comes with a manual flush option! Check out these instructions to build your own. Mike D’Amour came up with the idea, and Will Gorman built and documented RoboFlush.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. ~__^

Last year, designer Mike Essl was working a book for DC Comics when he came across two unusual accents in Rā’s al Ghūl’s name—an a-macron and a u-macron. Well, he passed the word on to the boys of Hoefler & Frere-Jones. Since they are such thorough fellows, their OpenType edition of Gotham has got these accents (and others) well-covered in their Latin-X character set.

Ever since I saw the “Cloverfield” trailer, I’ve been wanting to do a hand cam movie. I also love long complicated continuous shots. So, of course when I found out about “PVC 1″ I was blown away. It’s an 85 minute film, shot in one continuous take. That’s right. No edits.
Here’s a link to the trailer.
Enjoy!

Not sure why, but the site went down for a bit last night. It was something with our webhost. Luckily, everything seems to be running again.
