I have book-related spending issues. What’s a ninja to do? There are just too many good books out there.

A group of students from from the Bauhaus-University Weimar affectionately named Das Typoart Freunde (The Typoart Friends) have put out a gorgeous book. Their book, titled Typoart Freunde, documents the history of the German Democratic Republic state type foundry, VEB Typoart Dresden from the 1950s until the late 1980s.

This one’s definitely going on the wish list. It’s 66.90 Euro (about $95 US).

The link to Heinz Wohlers Verlag unfortunately doesn't work any more. He has closed down and given up the domain. I have a few copies if anyone is interested. Write me a mail.
  • I'm quite interested in the book but what language is it written in? I'm not strong at German unfortunately...
  • Hallo,

You guessed it—it's in German. Maybe this would be a good opportunity to brush up on your German? ~__^

    Take care & happy 2009,
