I loaded it up last night and watched 27 minutes and couldn’t get drawn in. I eventually finished it this morning and there were at least 3 separate times where I just wanted to stop watching, but I pushed through it anyway.
The plot, if you could call it that, is about two kids who see it as their mission from God to kill mob guys. William Dafoe is tracking the murders. The way the action set pieces play out is like this. Dafoe gets on the scene, sees the evidence and says what he thinks happened. Then they show the action. Too bad the action doesn’t generate any tension.
And that’s the problem with the movie. There’s no real tension or conflict. Worst of all, the movie is boring.
