Hallo, hallo! My powerbook is back & up & running! The kind folks at Apple got it back to me before their promised date. Wohoo! I hope that you’re all having lovely weekends. ^__^

This past Saturday, Penguin & I watched Blade Runner: The Final Cut at the Ziegfeld. It was my first time seeing it in theaters. Let me tell you, it was really gorgeous & breathtaking—the visuals were so much clearer than the Director’s Cut. Oh, the dancing lights! And the last shot of the dove had been improved.

Even though it’s over 20 years old, it didn’t feel dated (save for some of the 80s fashion). And I had forgotten about the cheesy saxophone in the soundtrack, haha.

The only annoying thing about my experience was the fan boy sitting next to me who decided to recite lines. @___@

Funnily, this was one of the few events that I’ve been to where the line to the men’s bathroom was much longer than the women’s. Although with a vanity mirror and sink in every stall, our line moved much slower—figures.

Anywho, the main point of my post: please let me introduce you to the BR work of the concept artist, Sydney Jay Mead! The talented Mr. Mead worked on the street sets, props (including the Voight-Kampff), and matte prelims for Blade Runner. A bit of trivia: his favorite color is Cherenkov Radiation Blue. Enjoy:
