I wanted to wake up to shoot the sunrise, but that didn’t happen. I ended up waking up around 8:30. I wasn’t too eager to have breakfast after the previous night’s dinner. They did have the potato bread that was pretty good.

At 10, we went to the beach. I stripped down to my underwear and went into the water. The water was definitely colder than yesterday. I had goosebumps all over my legs and stuff.

I stayed in for about 10 minutes and then came out and slept on the beach. Just as the weather was getting nice, we had to leave. I was starting to get a nice tan.

We left the beach around 1. We still had some time before lunch, so we picked up a rotisserie chicken. We did want to get some other stuff, like a cake and dried fish for Kostya’s birthday. But Daniel suggested that we just take him to shishkabob instead. After the different meals, we figured the chicken would be the only thing we ate.

They served bosch, but I didn’t have any. They did give us some tortellini, but it wasn’t nearly as good as at the office.

Overall, we probably could’ve finished Issyk-kul in one day. It probably would’ve been more worth while if it hadn’t rained the previous day.

We got back to the office and all the girls were waiting for us. We had an hour to kill before dinner, so we just chilled. During the car ride, I was convicted that what the foundation and the church was doing to me was wrong. I seriously considered leaving the church for a second time.

As I tried to share my thoughts and feelings with Esther, it was clear that she was more interested in signing the cards than listening to me. I put on my iPod.

As I thought about the next few weeks and everything that hinged on this project, I started to weep. I moved into the other room as not to disturb anyone. But Esther came in and eventually the rest came in. I was weeping for a good 15 minutes.

I cleaned up, and we went to dinner. We ordered 100 shishkabobs, but we knew that wouldn’t be enough. They served us first, so we ate a lot. We realized the rest of the table hadn’t gotten shishkabobs, so we passed the next few down.

After dinner, we went back to the office to take pictures and say goodbyes. It took way longer than it should’ve. I was eager to go out and buy beer, but didn’t have the opportunity.

After the goodbyes, I took a dump and then a shower. The power was going out at 12, so I kept checking to see if my iPod finished charging.

The power went out and I finished packing. I tried to sleep, but too many thoughts were running through my head. My heart was anxious and I couldn’t fall asleep. I started walking around around 4 and stopped by the girls room because I heard them talking. We talked for a bit until they both fell asleep.

I went to sit in the laundry room to watch the sun rise. I didn’t actually get to see it, as 5:30 rolled around and it was time for breakfast.

2 fried eggs.

After breakfast, we loaded the van and went to the airport. Finally, I had some beer. And it was good.

Now for 12 hours of air travel.
