Happy Birthday, Stefan!

The talented triple-threat (designer, illustrator, writer), Mr. Stefan G. Bucher, turned 35 today. Stefan has been a good friend to me these past 2 years, & he’s been kind enough share his work & keep me company during the wee hours of the morning (seeing how we share similar sleeping schedules).

Today, NvP had the pleasure of celebrating Stefan’s birthday with the man himself!

Before entering his cool apartment, we were greeted by his flock of festive flamingos.

Oh, and here’s the birthday boy with plushy monster number 80. I commissioned Wenny to crochet this little guy, after all she did such a bang up job making amigurumi versions of us!

Ah, the famed desk where all the monster magic happens.

Ok, this is just nuts. Even though it’s Stefan’s birthday, he very generously gave me all these beautiful gifts.

I’m still reeling from all the excellent 344 goodies.

I keep pinching myself. I’m in love with the book that he designed for Tarsem’s The Fall (it’s an over-sized, promotion-only book of photographs from the film).

A lovely David Hockney book.

I love how the thin rule follows the horizon line on each spread. When I first flipped through, I was wondering why the rule was jumping. Then I saw it and thought, “what a nifty idea!”

Thanks again, Stefan, for such a warm, California welcome! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! ^_____^
