Video: Metro Volunteer Banquet Spots
Penguin February 9th, 2009
This past Saturday, Metro threw a banquet to thank all its volunteers. Because it’s award season, such as the Golden Globes, Grammies, and Oscars, the planning team wanted to go with an awardsy feel.
I was tasked to cut together spots to introduce the various ministries. Out of 5 spots, I finished 4 of them. There wasn’t any footage for the 5th spot and the zip file of the photos that were sent to me were corrupt.
Between getting the footage on Tuesday and having to have the finals cut by Saturday was a lot of stress. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I didn’t have class all day on Friday and Saturday.
Worship Arts Ministry

This one was the most fun to cut because it was more like a traditional music video. It was a little harder because most of the music the band played was slow and didn’t quite match to the soundtrack.
More spots after the jump.
Frontline

Frontline, the welcome ministry at Metro, does so many different things and includes so many different people that it was hard to include everything into a short spot.

There were a lot of fun things I wanted to do with this spot, but because of time constraints, I wasn’t able to do it.
Setup/Breakdown

Breakdown used to be a lot more interesting because they actually had to move a lot of stuff. Now, they kind of just wrap wires and push things back a bit. It was hard to make it look interesting. What I ended up doing was speeding up all the footage by 200% and then making it “stutter” to better match the music with the Posterize Time effect in After Effects.
