Is there such a thing as real romance?

Christine Norrie talks all about romance and NYC in her Graphic NYC interview. You can read it and take it in, here.

I feel like romance and love, which I’m all about, is also one of the beautiful and crushing things we do to each other. It can be so hurtful and painful, also wonderful and uplifting, except there are no rules, no formula, and so many, many variables. I know everybody goes about it differently, and there’s great love out there, but there’s also such great sorrow.

Seth Kushner's photos are eerie and gorgeous. Everything looks like there's extra k tone in it and he does unearthly things with focus sometimes, like here. I've known Christine for (gasp) about 12 years now. We worked at DC together. I dated her for about five or six weeks. It was very strange. She was (and still is) very sweet but I never quite knew what was going on. About two months later she started going out with our mutual friend Andy whom she married and had her little girl with.

I've always liked her illustrations more than her comics. I think her art looks much better when she inks it with a pen, but she fell in love with the brush years ago and they've been together ever since.
