A year or two ago, I had this dream of a girl and a playground made out of type. More specifically the word, Hello. I’m still not sure what this dream means.
After drawing a smiley smiley face on the wall of the First Avenue L-train stop at 3:10 AM on February 27, Yoshitomo Nara was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, possession of graffiti instruments, making graffiti and resisting arrest. He was released after a night in jail.
Nara called the arrest “a nice experience in my life,” in which he got to meet people he would not otherwise have encountered.
Nara was in New York for a solo exhibition of his work at the Marianne Boesky Gallery in Chelsea that runs through March 28, 2009. His sculptures and paintings were listed for $125,000 and $500,000.
It probably would have been worth ten grand if you or I got our hands on that brick.

My pen pal from across the pond sent me this cute animation for The Weepies‘ Hideaway video contest. This winning video entry was created by Michael Warner.
Scott C.’s Home Slice show gives us the rare opportunity to explore the abodes and lives of his beloved watercolor characters. Though cut-away views, we can look deep into the Rocket House, Whale House, and Cloud House. This exhibition also includes puppets, crafted by Screen Novelties.
I’ve always wondered what it would be like if my two favorite musical crushes, Ben Gibbard and Leslie Feist, got together. I got my first taste when the Postal Service remixed Mushaboom. It left me wanting more!
Ben Gibbard and Feist do not disappoint as they join forces once again to cover Vashti Bunyan’s Train Song. Ben & Feist’s Train Song is just one track from the album, Dark Was the Night. This album is comprised of 31 exclusive tracks and proceeds will benefit the Red Hot Organization, an international charity dedicated to raising money and awareness for HIV and AIDS through popular culture.
What a wonderful, timely parody! Oh geez, I know it’s so wrong, but I couldn’t help but laugh a little at Rorschach petting the German shepherds.
This combines two huge passions of mine, one being the comic genius that is Alan Moore and the other being kids programming from the late 80s which I would say is my biggest animation inspiration.
