My inbox is just glowing. Today, Tiffany introduced me to the sweet sounds of Melbourne-based jazz chanteuse, Megan Washington. My morning is looking brighter already. Thanks, Tiffany! ^_____^
The Type Nesting Tumblr blog hosts photographs of feathery friends making their nests in the bowls and counters of old signs and begs the question, “Do birds have a favorite font?”

Hoping to motivate, Michael Nobbs created a booklet, 75 Ways to Draw More. Like the title of the book suggests, this palm-sized booklet offers ideas to get you going and drawing more.
Here’s the list:
You can download the booklet (a nice, hi-res version) for free from his Flickr page. He even included simple, easy peasy assembly instructions.
Michael also made a limited edition of 50 of the booklet (each booklet will be signed and editioned and £1.00 from each sold will go to Macmillan Cancer Support). If you’d like to purchase one, click here.
Stephen Colbert will face off yet again against his musical arch-nemesis, the Decemberists. In 2006, Colbert claimed the title of “Shreddiest in the West” in the showdown against Decemberists’ guitarist, Chris Funk, during the much-touted Guitarmageddon.
The indie rock outfit are slated to shred-off (and perform a new song from their new LP, The Hazards of Love) today on The Colbert Report. I know I’ll be tuning in!
I’ve been super-busy, but I managed to eek in a little drawing (yes, I carry slabs of wood with me on the train). Here’s a portrait of my dear grandpa with ballpoint pen over ink a light ink wash.
Ah, I will post more later. Until then, have a lovely weekend.
The Hallowed Seam: PR vol. 3 collects the sketches of renowned artist James Jean, who has documented his life in drawings and paintings. From beautiful figure drawings to experimental paintings, Jean demonstrates a keen eye for humanity and a virtuosic handling of any medium.
For those with a little extra cash ($199.99 to be exact), there’s also a limited 200 edition that includes a slipcase and signed and numbered giclee with foil embellishment. If you’re interested, please contact pitzer@adhousebooks.com to be put on the list.
