My inbox is just glowing. Today, Tiffany introduced me to the sweet sounds of Melbourne-based jazz chanteuse, Megan Washington. My morning is looking brighter already. Thanks, Tiffany! ^_____^

Here’s the video for The Bamboos‘ cover of King Of The Rodeo featuring the incredible Megan Washington (originally by Kings of Leon).

And here’s Megan acoustic.

What a happy Thursday!

75-ways-to-draw-more

Hoping to motivate, Michael Nobbs created a booklet, 75 Ways to Draw More. Like the title of the book suggests, this palm-sized booklet offers ideas to get you going and drawing more.

Here’s the list:

You can download the booklet (a nice, hi-res version) for free from his Flickr page. He even included simple, easy peasy assembly instructions.

Michael also made a limited edition of 50 of the booklet (each booklet will be signed and editioned and £1.00 from each sold will go to Macmillan Cancer Support).  If you’d like to purchase one, click here.

Colbert battles with the Decemberists

Stephen Colbert will face off yet again against his musical arch-nemesis, the Decemberists. In 2006, Colbert claimed the title of “Shreddiest in the West” in the showdown against Decemberists’ guitarist, Chris Funk, during the much-touted Guitarmageddon.

The indie rock outfit are slated to shred-off (and perform a new song from their new LP, The Hazards of Love) today on The Colbert Report. I know I’ll be tuning in!

Cheers & happy Monday,

I’ve been super-busy, but I managed to eek in a little drawing (yes, I carry slabs of wood with me on the train). Here’s a portrait of my dear grandpa with ballpoint pen over ink a light ink wash.

Ah, I will post more later. Until then, have a lovely weekend.

Cheers,
