Here’s a sneak peek at the much-anticipated accompanying book for James Jean’s show, Kindling: New Works on Paper and Canvas, at the Jonathan Levine Gallery. The Kindling book contains 12 high-quality, removable prints in addition to process sketches and drawings from James Jean’s exhibition of the same title. It will be available from Chronicle Books in September 2009.
If you weren’t able to make it out, you can view all of the pieces here.
Vancouver-based illustrator/character designer, Edward Kwong, knocks my socks off! His sketch books are spectacular, and I’m really enjoying the diversity of his illustration styles that reference Art Deco, Noir, 50s print ad, and old comic books sources. Edward studied illustration at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary.
