Kent-based band, It Hugs Back, reminds me a tad of My Bloody Valentine and Yo La Tengo with their experimental feedback and dreamy guitar sounds. But what really caught my eye is their Tetris-inspired music video for their song, Now + Again.

Yesterday at the 2009 VMAs, Death Cab for Cutie, unveiled their single from The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack, Meet Me on the Equinox.

The song at its core is just about meeting another halfway, because life is very short, because there’s only a brief period of time to really connect with people, and that it’s important to recognize that.
– Ben Gibbard

The New Moon soundtrack is rumored to have an impressive line up including the likes of Muse, Thom Yorke, and Bon Iver. The soundtrack will be available in stores on October 20.

Joo Youn Paek’s Self-Sustainable Chair

Ninja September 11th, 2009

Part Chindōgu, part performance—Joo Youn Paek’s Self-Sustainable Chair is a polyethylene dress which gradually inflates into a chair with every step. The chair provides the wearer with a temporary seat and slowly deflates (and transforms back into a dress) under the sitter’s body weight.

The purpose of this project is to transform the humdrum experiences produced by routine walking commutes into an amusing interactive performance.
