Special thanks to Ophelia for showing me this hilarious Poker Face parody for typophiles. I love the “I’ll mock it up, show you what you I got” line!

OK GO is responsible for a lot of my procrastination. They made me want to dance along with A Million Ways, and I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve replayed their synchronized treadmill dancing video for Here It Goes Again.
WTF? is the lead single off the bands forthcoming third album, Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky
, slated for release on January 12, 2010.
Masters of the single-take, OK GO does it again. This music video for WTF? is no different, except that there’s no dancing, Tim is not lip syncing to Damian’s vocals, and there’s a lot more green screen and gaffer tape. Take a look at the pretty colors and Muybridge trails:
Directed by Tim Nackashi
Behind-the-scenes with commentary by OK GO’s Damian Kulash and Tim Nordwind
Tutorial on how to make the effect by Topher Welsh
Thank you, Video Hive

Music runs in Anya Marina’s family. Her grandmother played piano in Dixieland bands. And both her parents play the piano — her mother favoring Gypsy folk songs while her father plays the blues. Before taking the stage, Anya spent five years interviewing bands and honing her musical chops as a DJ on FM 94.9.

I adore this song, and I thought I’d share it with you.
Long before Carla Bruni was the first lady of France, she penned this sweet and melancholy tune, Quelqu’un M’a Dit.
The story goes like this… Carla Bruni and filmmaker Leos Carax were lovers. Bruni broke it off with Carax and left him broken-hearted. Later at a party, Carax overheard a rumor that Bruni still loved him, so he clung to that small hope and immediately wrote her a letter that began with the words “Quelqu’un m’a dit,” (somebody told me.) His poetic writing failed to win her back, but it inspired her to put his words to music.

Oh no, not another actress/singer, I groaned to myself. But Scarlett Johansson’s twangy vocals on Relator complement Pete Yorn’s catchy ’60s tunes quite well. Relator is the first single off of Pete and Scarlett’s album, Break Up. Inspired by the collaboration between Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot, this album includes eight original songs (plus a cover of I Am the Cosmos).

I love it when two of my favorite artists got together and make a musical baby. Here’s a preview of Tiësto’s track, I Am Strong featuring Priscilla Ahn, from his forthcoming album Kaleidoscope!
