My Christmas gift came early this year — I’ve been accepted into Art Center College of Design’s illustration program! And I cannot stop grinning. ^______________________^
I gave my two weeks notice today, and I still have a lot of loose ends to tidy up at work before I can get to packing for my cross-country move. So I will take a pause in blogging on NvP and continue back in the new year on January 17, 2010.
Happy holidays to you and your loved ones and much thanks for your friendship, kind comments, love, and support!
Hugs and peace,
Ninja

He studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena where he graduated with honors in 2004. He now lives and works out of Brooklyn, NY.

The AT-AT is classic!

I’ve wanted to be an illustrator since I was eight. And now, I’m trying to work on a spiffy portfolio and go back to school to pursue my dream.
Last Friday, I had a portfolio review with Art Center, and it went very well! My interviewer liked my work; she said that I had strong narratives, scene creation, and characters. Her favorites were the hair portraits and Ralph (blot number 7). The only thing I needed was MORE pieces. The toughest part will be coming up with 15-30 more figure drawings from life.

It’s really hard to squeeze in classes with my work schedule, so I’m going to look into weekend sessions. Fingers crossed.
Sleepy smiles,
