I’m not sure how I feel about Drew Friedman’s take on Batman’s supervillain created for Vanity Fair. Yes, it’s George W. Bush as the Joker. Great execution, but I think the Joker is far scarier as is without the goofy W. factor.
My brother sent me these silly links. I have this suspicion that he may secretly (or not so secretly) be pursuing being Batman as a back-up career. ~__^
Batman is my favourite superhero. It might be because he has no real powers or the fact that he has such a rich full backstory. Whatever it is, I can’t wait to see what the Japanese can do with him.
He haunts my dreams… Ok, maybe not. But I’ve been seeing Batman wandering the streets with Lindsay Lohan, needing to hit the gym, being name dropped by a presidential candidate, + now he’s got a movie poster out.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul tells Comic Mix that his favorite comic book superhero is Baruch Wane (Batman) fromPaul Pope’s The Batman Chronicles: The Berlin Batman, #11.
Last year, designer Mike Essl was working a book for DC Comics when he came across two unusual accents in Rā’s al Ghūl’s name—an a-macron and a u-macron. Well, he passed the word on to the boys of Hoefler & Frere-Jones. Since they are such thorough fellows, their OpenType edition of Gotham has got these accents (and others) well-covered in their Latin-X character set.
I’m tickled to learn that Chris Gardner has his own blog! He’s the illustrator behind House Industries type foundry (not to be confused with the self-made millionaire guy). Chris even did the revised Batman logo for DC Comics!* Here, Chris referenced the original 1940’s lettering and lovingly hand drew the type for the new logo.
