Oh my gosh, Chris Cunningham creates some brilliant, drool-worthy work! My jaw dropped when Penguin showed me this commercial for Flora, a new Gucci fragrance. Starring Australian model, Abbey Lee, the commercial was shot over four days in a Latvian field of over 20,000 fake flowers. This commercial is so perfect set to a ghostly version of the Donna Summer song, I Feel Love.
Foremost in our minds was a desire to avoid the heroine being perceived as passive or dreamy. We wanted to portray the female as an active character who brings to life in an active way the Flora personality by controlling the nature around her. We also felt it was important to demonstrate a movement of the female from mademoiselle to empowered woman; a woman initially delicate and feminine transforming into someone stronger and more powerful.

Fantastically beautiful and memorizing commercial by DAf. You can see the making of below.
It’s amazing how it took them 6 weeks of pre-production for a 2 day shoot. I wonder how long post took? It’s a great peek at their process and just how much work and talent went into such a short spot.

I was on Anonymous Content last night and was caught up in David Fincher’s body of work. This is one of his latest. A commercial for Nike chronicling pro-footballers (American football) LaDainian Tomlinson and Troy Polamalu as they meet on the field.
This is why David Fincher is one of the best directors in the world.

I try not to make a habit of posting commercials, unless they’re by Martin Scorsese, but this one was cute enough to present.
There’s some nice CG that really shows off the bugs and also gets the concept across nicely.
