Here are some of my photos from the All Points West show. I know they’re not much to write home about, but I thought I’d share the memories with you anyway.

A bit of wooden eco-art that I passed on my way to the Port-a-John. The wait for the loo was nearly an hour!
Ah, and here’s Radiohead, well, what I could kind of see them if I jumped up. I’m about a head or so shorter than everyone else in the crowd. Lovely LED light show though.
To give you a slightly better view of Thom Yorke and the lighting, here’s a photo taken by Mr. Rob Bennett for the NYT.
Radiohead’s House of Cards music video used lasers to capture data that could be presented visually. Radiohead then generously released the 3D plotting data for users to play with. With that data, Ian Mackinnon created a time-lapse LEGO visualization.
On Saturday, Penguin and I volunteered at one of the All Points West vendor stands to raise money for international medical relief. As an added bonus, we got to see Radiohead play for free. What an absolutely amazing night!
Much thanks to the fellows standing next to me who offered their spots so I could get a better view. I do have some photos from the show, but being that I’m shorter than the rest of the Amazons in the crowd, they’re not that great (I’ll post them tomorrow).
These viddies don’t do them justice, but here’s a taste:
I know this already made its rounds on the blogosphere while I was gone, but its still worth posting about.
Check out Radiohead’s just released a new video for its song “House of Cards” from the album “In Rainbows”.
No cameras or lights were used. Instead two technologies were used to capture 3D images: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR. Geometric Informatics scanning systems produce structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while a Velodyne Lidar system that uses multiple lasers is used to capture large environments such as landscapes. In this video, 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes
I was trying to make a muxtape with songs that had the word, “bang” in their titles. So Radiohead’s Bangers and Mash, Nancy Sinatra’s Bang Bang, and The Breeders‘ Bang On are there.
Unfortunately, muxtape kept getting stuck on my St. Vincent’s Bang Bang live. Bah, so here’s a viddy of the song instead:
I didn’t get far, but if you’d like to hear what I was able to upload, click here.
If you’re a tad on the impatient side, the song starts at about 1:10 into the video.
Based on the lyric (and alternate title) “Big Ideas: Don’t get any” I grouped together a collection of old redundant hardware, and placed them in a situation where they’re trying their best to do something that they’re not exactly designed to do, and not quite getting there. It doesn’t sound great, as it’s not supposed to.

In an unprecedented and exclusive collaboration, MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) Campaign and Radiohead have partnered to produce a music video for Radiohead’s track “All I Need” off the album In Rainbows.
