Despite the holidays, we managed to put up some great numbers for December. Who would’ve thought that meeting Tim Gunn would drive so much traffic.
On some high notes. First Kiss is one of the top search results for google image search on “kiss” or “first kiss”. The print is available for purchase.

Numbers dipped a little bit, but I think that’s because of Thanksgiving. It’s good that you guys are spending time with your families, rather than on the internets, as much as we love you at NvP.

You may have noticed a few days ago that at the end of each post is now this “popularity” thing. It’s a gauge of how popular a particular post is based on how many views, comments, trackbacks, pings, etc it gets. It’s a nifty little thing to help us see what people like.

We got a HUGE jump in October. Try as I might, I really can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Take a look at the numbers:

In October alone, we got more traffic then the rest of NvP’s history combined! My gut says it’s from the fine folks at exljbrs and introducing Ninja to Google Reader, a fantastic RSS reader.

As you can see, out growth has slowed a bit. But some interesting things about the numbers. Even though both unique visits and visits increased by over 10%, pages served actually decreased by 10%! My guess, is that this has to do people using our RSS feed, but I don’t have much that confirm that.
Anther interesting number is how much bandwidth is being used. 1.74 GB, an increase of over 100%. This probably has to do with both the comics and all the images that Ninja uses in her posts.

As you can see, we’re definitely growing, which is awesome! What the numbers really show, is that the viewers we get really like us. In April, we were getting 2 visits per viewer, which rose to almost 3 visits per viewer. And in pages served rose from 12.5 per viewer to 25 per viewer. So, even though our base only rose 21%, our overall traffic numbers increased by 50%!
You guys are amazing!
Most of the traffic peaked around May 5th.

- rssatellite tutorial – 5 %
- images of a ninja squirrels – 4.2 %
- rssatellite – 2.5 %
- rssatellite mininova – 2.5 %
I find it really interesting that a blog about art primarily turns up on search engines through rssatellite. And the random search for ninja and squirrels.

Traffic peaks April 23 – 25, with average unique visits of 70 / day.

Some interesting numbers. I think the searches are what’s really interesting. The few tech posts that I’ve made drives about 26% of search traffic.
Even though we’re still small, we’re progressively growing every month, which is nice.
