Penguin showed me this over the weekend, + it made me smile. All I have to say is that Nick Pitera has the sickest falsetto!
A little background info:
Mr. Nick Pitera is a senior studying computer animation at the Ringling College of Art and Design. His 3D animation process blog can be seen here.

I’m a total romantic, + like many of you, I’ve been keeping up this NY love story. I remembered seeing this in my inbox a while ago and meant to post about it, but was pretty bogged down with work. I was pretty surprised to see this cute boy meets girl story on ABC News. They look adorable together—oh the power of love (+ the internet).

If you’re visiting Cologne, Germany in late August, be sure to check out Cologne Cathedral. Artist Gerhard Richter designed a lovely pixelated stained-glass window based on his own 1974 painting, 4096 Colors. The original stained-glass window was destroyed during World War II.

Sony has launched a new service called Crackle. It’s a slightly different take on YouTube. Instead of focusing on user generated content, Sony will be paying people to produce videos. What that means, is that they will be offering up to $10,000 to produce a video.
The catch, is that you have to submit your idea and have it approved. They still allow you to upload regular video, but you won’t get paid for this.
I think it’s an interesting idea and a great platform for serious filmmakers to get off the ground. Especially with the backing of Sony, some fresh directors may get their chance at the big time.
